Pigeon Forge runs on hot grease and packed parking lots, and if you’re hunting fried chicken here, you’re not looking for a quiet plate. You’re dodging a million tourists, crossing parkway traffic, and hoping the strip-mall storefront you picked actually knows what it’s doing.

This list runs from a creekside date-night spot where the boar croquettes outshine the bird to a chaos-driven joint where the staff insults you for a living. We ate at all of them, including the one where the fried deviled eggs stole the show.

Now go get some.

Mama's Chicken Kitchen does not mess around. The place is clean, the staff moves fast, and the fried chicken tastes like a grandmother who is tired of your excuses but loves you anyway. The crust is sturdy, the meat is juicy, and the plates come out balanced. I ordered the cheese curds on a whim. Smart move. They squeak with freshness. Portions are generous without being wasteful. Service is spotless, which matters more than you think. If you want dependable, no-drama fried chicken in Pigeon Forge, this is a safe bet. I left satisfied. That is the whole job.

Massive portions, fair prices
Best hush puppies anywhere
Giant mason jar drinks
Excellent fried chicken value

Huck Finn's Catfish is a strange name for fried chicken, but I won't hold it against them. The portions are absurd. The price is fair. You will leave with leftovers and maybe a slight food coma. The hush puppies are the best I have had anywhere, and I have had a lot. The chicken is excellent too. Crispy, hot, and well seasoned. The mason jar drinks are comically large SC. I ordered one and felt like a giant holding a thimble. Service is quick. The vibe is casual. For fried chicken value, this place is hard to beat. Just bring an appetite.

Reuben is Tennessee’s best
Massive portions, fair price
Fresh vegetables, new ingredients
Fast, friendly counter service
Local kombucha worth trying

Tennessee Jed's is a sandwich shop, but the fried chicken finds its way onto a sandwich, and that is fine by me. The Reuben is Tennessee's best, and I am not going to argue. Portions are massive. Prices are fair. The chicken is crispy and fresh, piled high on bread with vegetables that actually taste like vegetables. Service is fast and friendly. They even have local kombucha, which I tried. It is weird but worth it. If you want fried chicken in a sandwich form, this is the place. I left full and slightly kombucha-buzzed. That is a good day.

Tasty crispy onion rings
Fast table turnover
Open late nightly

Mel's Classic Diner is a retro time capsule with decent fried chicken. Service is quick and friendly, the kind of place where your coffee never sits empty. The atmosphere is fun. Old music, shiny countertops, that sort of thing. The onion rings are crispy and tasty. I ordered them with my chicken, and I was not disappointed. The chicken itself is classic diner style. Not fancy, but solid. Table turnover is fast, which is good because it gets busy. They are open late nightly, which is a blessing after a long day of tourist traps. I would go back.

Great for date nights

The Heirloom Room is not a fried chicken joint. It is a creekside restaurant with a date night vibe. But I ordered the fried chicken anyway, and it surprised me. The crust is delicate, the meat is juicy. Service from Stephany was exceptional. She anticipated my needs before I knew them. The wild boar croquettes are impressive, and the venison loin is cooked perfectly. The riverside atmosphere is beautiful. This is a place to slow down. If you want fried chicken with a side of romance, this is your spot. Just be ready to pay more. It is worth it.

Fried deviled eggs standout
Fast, hot service
Worth the trip back

Chubby's Restaurant is a no-frills place that serves serious food. The staff is friendly, and the fried chicken is delicious. But the real standout is the fried deviled eggs. I did not know I needed those in my life until I tried them. The chicken itself is hot, crispy, and full of flavor. Service is fast. The place is not fancy, but it does not need to be. I left planning my next trip back. That is the highest compliment I can give. If you are in Pigeon Forge and want fried chicken with a twist, go to Chubby's.

Highlights
Solid food, great live music
Generous BBQ platter for two
Personable bartender, Larry
Unique, appealing decor

Ole Red is a music venue that also serves food. The fried chicken is solid, not spectacular, but the live music makes up for it. I ordered the BBQ platter for two, which was generous, and the chicken was a sidekick. It was crispy and hot. The bartender, Larry, was personable and kept my drink full. The decor is unique, all neon and guitars. If you want fried chicken while someone sings about trucks, this is the place. The food is not the reason you come, but it will not disappoint. I would come back for the music alone.

Highlights
Coffee that refills itself
Huge, fluffy veggie omelet
Solid breakfast option overall
Worth it when others are packed

Sun Diner is a breakfast spot, but they have fried chicken on the menu now. I tried it, and it is fine. The coffee refills itself, which is the real miracle. The veggie omelet is huge and fluffy, a better choice. The fried chicken is crispy but a bit dry. I would stick to breakfast. It is worth it when the other places are packed, because the line is shorter IPA. Service is efficient. The vibe is basic, but the food is solid. If you need a quick fried chicken fix, this will do. But do not skip the pancakes.

Average food, unforgettable chaos
Hilarious staff, especially Dakota
Kids and adults both laugh
Worth it for the experience

Dick's Last Resort is chaos, and the fried chicken is average. But the experience is unforgettable. The staff is hilarious, especially Dakota, who insulted me for my ordering skills. Kids and adults both laughed. The chicken is crispy, but the flavor is nothing special. You come here for the attitude, not the cuisine. And that is fine. It is worth it for the experience alone. I left with a paper hat on my head and a smile on my face. If you want a straight-up fried chicken review, this is not the place. But if you want a story, go.

Unique bloody Mary garnish

Timberwood Grill is a no-wait dinner tradition. The fried chicken is true Southern comfort food. Hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Service is friendly and attentive. The blood Mary garnish is unique, with a pickle spear and a slice of bacon. I ordered one just to see. The chicken is the star, though. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Portions are solid. The place runs like a machine. You will not wait long, which is rare in Pigeon Forge. I left feeling appreciated. That is how a meal should go.

Leaves you stuffed and ready

Reagan's House of Pancakes sounds like a breakfast place, and it is. But they also do fried chicken, and they do it right. The service is fast, hot, and well run. The breakfast buffet is a yearly favorite for a reason. You can stuff yourself silly and still have room for pancakes. The fried chicken pieces are crispy, not greasy, and the seasoning is simple. For families, this is great value. You will leave stuffed and ready for a nap. I went on a busy morning and still got my food quickly. That is the mark of a place that knows what it is doing.

Smoked wings, deep flavor

Tender, smoky brisket
Coleslaw sweet, finely chopped
Kind, professional service

Bennett's Pit Bar-B-Que is a barbecue joint, but their smoked wings are the real deal. Deep smoky flavor, crispy skin, tender meat. The ribs fall off the bone. The brisket is tender and smoky. I tried the fried chicken too, just to be thorough. It is good, but the wings are the star. The coleslaw is sweet and finely chopped, a nice contrast. Service is kind and professional. You will not wait long. This is a solid stop if you want BBQ with a side of fried chicken. I almost left with a second order of wings. I regret nothing.
